The Friendship Shop
Red Deer's Friendship Marketspace Inc. is a social enterprise designed to support RDNFS’ community based programs through partnerships with local small businesses, artists, and organizations.
The Friendship Shop recognizes the need for unrestricted funding within social programming to allow for access of services and supports, we are therefore committed to directing profits back into the community by uplifting the sales and impacts of our partners.
In our efforts to support the community, we look to ensure that both the products we provide and our methods of sale reflect ethical and reciprocal practices of sustainability and care for the environment. Through our practices of public transparency, we hope to encourage informed and meaningful consumer market engagement.
Who We Are
Red Deer Native Friendship Society
Founded in 1984, the Red Deer Native Friendship Society (RDNFS) is an Indigenous non-profit organization that is committed to helping youth, elders and families connect to their cultural values and teachings. Guided by the spirit of friendship and traditional teachings, we at RDNFS are committed to creating a community without need. We are one of over 100 friendship societies across Canada working toward this goal.
